Description

Pay no heed to the measurements. They're guestimates and for the large part wrong.

An exercise in value on characters. It would have been a lot easier if I had models or reference but meh... I was lazy.

So, a little info on the characters, because I'm sure there are some itching to know a bit about them.

Thilas: An adventuring youth in his prime, Thilas comes from a well-to-do family in Castletown, but preferred to travel the world, studying textiles of different countries and learning about different cultures. Eventually his travels brought him back to Hyrule where he met a young Sheikah woman, Rulani. He set up shop in Kakariko and courted her many years before she consented to marry him. His knowledge and skills in cloth-making paired with his dedication helped him become a wealthy business owner. He currently owns two ships that travel to barter for materials and keep up good relations with the many friends he has made through the years. He's a very kind man, but harbors some ill-will toward his son-in-law who he believes to be an empty-headed lout that only occasionally has something of importance to say. His health has started to fail recently, and much to his displeasure is looked after by Thom for most of the day. His only pleasure is in thrashing the man at chess and other games of wit.

Rulani: A Sheikah woman of good standing who's job it was to guard the tombs until the downfall of the Sheikah race. She remained vigilant in her duty until the wars of Hyrule all but made it necessary to go into hiding. She sought Thilas as her cover, thinking his presence convenient to her situation and only later realizing how much she had grown attached to him. After the end of the wars, the Sheikah were little more than legend, and she was contented to make her "cover" her life. She was a shrewd business woman and her detail work with beading and stitch-work was often a key selling point that helped their business to grow. Now she often remains in a back room, quietly going about her work and teaching her methods to her granddaughter, Ralu who will inherit the business.

Renna: The proprietress of the Symphonis establishment, she was no where near as skilled as her parents with clothes-making, but made up for it with her sharp business skills. She managed to expand the business to include patrons from the nobles and royalty, who often come to order articles of clothing so lavish, it has supplemented their income and made it possible to expand their business further. When she was up and coming, Renna found herself falling for a young miner in town, who returned her amorous feelings. Despite his less than proper education, she loved him for his simple ways and enjoyed being in his company. However, she soon found out after they were married that his heart was a little too big for her business ways and had him go back to work in the mines until her father's health worsened. She spends much of her time taking care of the business and doesn't spend much time with her daughters except to train Ralu to take over and scold Tima for flirting so often with the local boys.

Thom: A man who's brains seems to be in his hands, Thom is a simple man who has nothing but the best intentions and most optimistic view ever seen in Hyrule. He comes from a simple family of miners, the third son of eleven boys and three girls. His family was sad to have him leave their family and take the Symphonis name, but they never miss a chance to visit and the Symphonis family never misses a family reunion. Since leaving the work in the mines at the base of Death Mountain, Thom has occupied his empty hours with modifications around the house: expanding bedrooms and the storefront, creating a stairwell that's easier on Thilas' kness, and exapanding the storehouse deeper into the cliff side among other self-created projects. A great deal of raising his and Renna's children fell on his shoulders, which means a lot got by him. In fact, if Renna has not stepped in, Ralu would be a lot rounder. Thom enjoys cooking, at least learning how to cook, and suffice to say his skills have improved over the years.

Ralu: The heir to inheriting the family business, she is happily resigned to her fate, and enjoys learning about the business and acquiring new talents, but is not even a fourth as tough as her mother and maternal grandparents. A great deal of her personality is like her father's, in compassion and simple kind-heartedness. A lot of her... physical features comes from her father's side of the family as well, her fair hair, red eyes and large hips being the only big indications of her mother's heritage.

Tima: The brat of the family, Tima is used to being ignored by her mother and grandparents, and with her father's family being so large, any attention she gets there is not satisfying. She makes her own fun in flirting with local boys and soldiers. She is subconsciously jealous of the attention that Ralu receives and so often will take advantage of Ralu's insecurities to make her feel worse. She'll often use her older sister as her wing-man to get dates and make herself more attractive to men. She's an upstart that will unhappily get her just desserts. But she's a teenager and will get over it in time.

I really like how this came out. (You showed me the unfinished version a while ago.) I still think Tima is cute even if she is bratty. I think Ralu's grandparents' story is cute ^u^ You put a lot of thought into all their backgrounds!
