"Change"
The light was painfully blinding. Everything else was blindingly painful. Yinwu could barely spare a thought for the light besides the pain it caused his eyes through his eyelids. He was in pain, and not just any pain; it was familiar. The smell of clean sheets, floor cleaner and the mix of fresh and stale blood that Yinwu couldnt stand because such smells were synonymous with hospitals and hospitals were synonymous with surgery and if he was in pain and in a hospital, surgery was certainly afoot.
WHAT DID YOU DO! he bellowed, hoarse throat screeching and breaking into earsplitting levels as he made as much noise as he could. It was nothing compared to his rage.
Nurses and probably a doctor or two were rushing in. One of them put a hand on his arm. It all went downhill from there. The railings of the bed were ripped out, metal screaming as they were pulled up from their welded position and thrown across the room, through the wall and out the window in the hallway beyond. More hands rushed forward to restrain. As if they had a chance. Yinwu only howled in anger and more pain at their touch and threw one of the offending people at the others.
DONT TOUCH ME! He was immediately obeyed. After a few moments of trying to regain his mind, Yinwu cracked any eye open into the blinding light. The bandages around his arms were a torn and tangled mess drenched in fresh blood. The rest of him, which he had not yet liberated from restraints, was also heavily wrapped in gauze only stained by the blood from his arms when he had thrown people and pieces of hospital bed. He paid no mind to the injuries and looked around at the frightened circle of people in the room.
You, he hoarsely said, visually picking out a doctor from the crowd. I want to see my medical file NOW!
Before the doctor could move an annoyed and quite calm voice parted the people. Youll get it when you can turn the pages without opening an incision. Yinwu whipped his head around to see Rinsei walking into the room, a book tucked under her arm and sword strapped to her hip. He would have cracked a grin, if he werent so angry. But the anger was beginning to bleed away, and exhaustion and fatigue from the loss of blood was quickly setting in.
What did they
The last word slurred on his tongue as he fell back onto the mattress. She stood over him authoritatively, arms crossed and a stern look of scorn across her face.
The next time you wake up you will lie in bed obediently and not create more work than is necessary. Her lip curled in disgust as a braver nurse tentatively came forward to start prepping Yinwu for re-stitching.
Yes maam, he drowsily replied, returning her scowl with a stupid grin.
-------------
Those of you familiar with my last account may remember me posting some chapters about Yinwu and Rinsei.
This takes place sometime after his capture, when his implants and operations are complete. He is obviously not happy about them doing so without his permission.
And his hair! They shaved his hair! I'm quite sad that I can't show you how he looks with hair, he's much cuter. Right now he just looks like an angry old man. Not to mention there's no color. BAH! I NEED COLOR!
And of course, Rinsei steps in to be all "in charge" and he lets her, because he knows being obedient and sevile riles her more than backlashing.
